Profit Growth Strategy #3 for Virtual Assistants

Posted by on Sep 6, 2009 in Blog, Virtual Assistance | 0 comments

Assist your client with the creation of an e-book, book, or downloadable report

As an expert Virtual Assistant who focuses on more than a single niche, you will quickly learn your clients’ products and services, and may actually be instrumental in the creation and implementation of some of them. With this knowledge, you can help your clients create new profit streams by creating downloadable reports, white papers or e-books. These profit streams can provide you more billable hours, a partnership in profits with your clients and client loyalty.

Examine what your client’s expertise is and how they are different than their competition. Start to record ideas and take notes during conversations with your client. As you collect these ideas, you can outline a book, or e-book and suggest to your client that you co-author or ghost write a book for him or her. This way, your client will be seen as an expert in their field and have a new channel through which profits will flow. Once published, the book will lead to additional profit streams we will discuss soon.

If you are concerned about the quality of your writing, partner with someone who has journalism or PR experience. You can build the outline, manage the process and contact the publisher. Your partner will write and edit the book. Your client will review the book and be engaged in the promotion of the book. If a well written content-rich e-book is the goal, utilize your skills to become the graphic designer, e-book editor, layout guru and copy editor.

This collaborative effort will be rewarding and can create residual income for you. You can also add this service to your resume of experiences and increase your fees for new clients.
